Mana is the primary resource used to cast spells in this game. Players can gain mana through various means. Mana is consumed when spells are cast.
Health represents the vitality of players and creatures/constructs. When a player's health reaches 0 or less, they lose the game and can no longer play. Damage dealt reduces health, and healing effects can restore it up to the starting maximum of the entity. Constructs and creatures also have health, and when reduced to zero, they are removed from play.
Essence is a specialized resource associated with specific elements (e.g., Fire Essence, Water Essence). It is usually generated by cards known as Sigils and is used to cast spells that require a specific type of Essence.
Essence itself does not decay or expire naturally. However, Sigils often provide Essence for only one turn, meaning that if it is not used during that turn, it is wasted.
The draw deck (also referred to as a player's deck) is the player's primary collection of spells. At the start of the game, players shuffle their draw deck and draw their opening hand from the top. When a card is used or discarded, it is placed in the discard pile. If the draw deck is depleted, the discard pile is shuffled to form a new draw deck. Players can only draw from their draw deck.
The hand consists of cards that a player has drawn from their draw deck and can play during the [Casting Phase] (placeholder for the actual phase name).
