Recycling is a key mechanic of Enchantoria, allowing players to gain additional mana by discarding cards during the Preparation Phase. If a player decides to recycle, they must select a card to recycle and discard it. The player then gains mana based on the card's mana value and the recycling function used. The base recycling function in Enchantoria is:
Some spells in Enchantoria have a mana cost denoted as "X," allowing the player to choose the amount of mana spent when casting the spell. When recycling, the mana value of "X" is treated as 0, meaning these cards return no mana when recycled.
Greg's Rule
When multiple spells are cast simultaneously, they follow the Simultaneous Resolution Rule (Greg's Rule), all spells happen at the same unless stated otherwise by the card or a clarification.
Example: GET DOWN MR. PRESIDENT!
Suppose a player controls a creature that blocks 2 damage for its controller each turn. During the Combat Phase, 15 Fireballs are cast at the creature. Despite its imminent death in the Discard Phase, the creature still blocks 2 damage for its controller that turn, as all effects occur simultaneously.
A spell with a countering effect can negate another spell before it resolves, effectively canceling its effects. The countered spell does not take place, and any resources used for casting it are still consumed.
...deal x damage to...
Reduces the target's health by a specified amount (x).
...heal... ...by x...
Restores health the target's health by a specified amount (x) up to its maximum (which is the amount of health the entity started the game with unless stated otherwise)
...block x damage...
Absorbs the specified amount of incoming damage for the target.
...provide x protection...
Protection grants a target the ability to block a specified amount of damage each turn. When a Protection source (the spell or effect that provides the Protection) is applied to a target, it absorbs up to X damage each turn, where X is the current power of the Protection source.
When the Protection source absorbs damage, the absorbed amount is subtracted from its total power. If the power of the Protection source is reduced to 0 or less, the Protection effect ends, and the Protection source is removed.
An entity can only have one active Protection source at a time. If a new Protection source is applied to a target that already has Protection, the new source replaces the existing one.
...counter... ...spell...
Cancels the effect of a spell before it resolves, preventing its effects from taking place. The countered spell does not occur, and any resources used for casting it remain consumed.
Creatures and constructs are entities that can be summoned into play using Summoning spells. They have their own health and may perform actions during the Combat Phase. The following rules apply to creatures and constructs:
Health: Each creature or construct has its own health. When its health is reduced to zero, it is removed from play, and any associated effects end immediately.
Targeting: Players can target creatures and constructs with spells, similar to how they would target other players.
Creatures and constructs can benefit from Protection, Healing, or other spell effects just like players. The same rules for applying and replacing Protection sources apply to them as well.
Effects are statuses applied to players, creatures, or constructs that last for a specified number of turns. When an effect is created, it is given a duration that specifies how long it will persist in the game. The following rules apply to effects:
Duration: Each effect has a specified number of turns it will last. At the end of each Discard Phase, the duration of each effect is reduced by one. If the effect was applied during the current turn, its duration is not reduced in that Discard Phase (see Grace's Illness).
Multiple Effects: A target can have multiple effects applied at the same time, as long as they are not conflicting effects (e.g., two effects that provide Protection cannot stack).
Expiration: When an effect's duration reaches zero, the effect ends and is removed from the game.
